Amputee Dog Cart

This is the amputee version of the K9 dog Cart. Keep in mind that this is appropriate for a complete amputation only. If there is a stump then a standard cart is fine. To order an Amputee dog cart, just note that the amputee dog cart pad is needed on the order form.

We can make a asymmetrical or counterbalanced if there is an extreme case, but generaly we just use an amputee pad in the leg rings for a missing rear legs, or if there is a case where there is a deformity or a tumor we can conform the bars to fit and apply extra custom padding on the cart where necessary. I have added a picture of an amputee pad which is standard for all amputee cases. This pad aligns the pet in the cart and works extremely well. Counterbalanced carts are used because the pet is not aligned in the cart properly and tilts to one side more than the other. I try to avoid this at all costs and use custom padding to align the pet properly. Once the pet’s weight is evenly distributed in the cart, there is never any need for a counterbalance.
